What Goes Into Every Bag

70% food-grade tofu litter, 30% cassava — the golden ratio for a fully plant-based blend. Cassava’s fine starch granules drop into the gaps between the larger tofu pellets and grab liquid first, setting it hard. That is what removes the mushy bottom layer pure tofu litter is known for.

Draft ratios — 70:30 is the standard, and the ratio is adjustable by project. Confirm with production and request the CAS-level ingredient sheet with your samples.

Granule Size & Scent

• 1.5 mm fine strand — the best-selling specification: large surface area, fast uptake, soft under the paw
• Tofu 2–3 mm strand + cassava 0.5–2.5 mm fine granule — the size contrast that lets cassava fill the voids

Scent options: Odorless, Green Tea, Lavender, Milk, Peach, Baby Powder, Activated Carbon — all customizable. The two materials take colour and fragrance differently, so we blend to a consistent shade batch to batch.

Why the two sizes matter: the coarse tofu strand holds volume and traps odour, while the fine cassava granule sinks to the tray floor and forms a fast-setting barrier there. Together they stop the wet paste that sticks to the bottom of the tray — the single most common complaint about pure tofu litter.

Packaging & Loading

Bag formats: self-supporting, flat-bottom, woven, vacuum, fin-lap seal, back-seal reinforced. Sizes: 2.4kg · 2.5kg · 5kg · 10kg — custom on request. Vacuum packing is recommended: it compresses the bag for shipping and keeps both plant materials dry in transit.

Loading reference: At roughly 500–550 g/L the blend is volume-limited in a 20GP, in the same range as our tofu and cassava litters*. Ask sales for the loading plan against your actual bag drawing.

Which Markets Choose Tofu & Cassava

Choose this blend when your market wants a fully flushable, 100% plant-based claim on the bag. It is the strongest fit for eco-led European shelves, Japan and Korea, retailers with a vegan or plant-only range, and any line positioned for kittens, pregnant cats or respiratory-sensitive cats. If instead your buyers judge purely on clump hardness and price, our Tofu & Bentonite Blend is the better conversation — it clumps harder but only dissolves partially. Many importers stock both: the cassava blend as the eco tier, the bentonite blend as the performance tier.

Before You Request a Quote

Shelf life: 24 months sealed in a cool, dry place (5–30°C recommended)*. Both materials are hygroscopic — keep bags sealed against moisture.

Flush in moderation: both materials dissolve, so this blend flushes more freely than a bentonite blend. Still advise end customers to flush a few clumps at a time and to follow local plumbing rules.
